Sealed Lips

We are peasants
Striving for how to belong
Nowhere, Nohow
But we spread like dust
On the surface of the earth
Living lowly
With hopes hanging in the air

Stars hidden within us
Mouth dried up by famine
We are in Unison
Crying for a change
Biting hard at sticks
Hungry for a changed story
Voices unheard,Thoughts hidden

This is a Short 2-stanza poem with 7lines each.It talks about the less privileged in a remote area where little or no development gets there. It uses the ‘First person point of view’ with the use of ‘WE’.
The first stanza talks about the poor, with population increasing and still struggling to feed. The last stanza throws more light on how much they long for their voices to be heard. They seem talented at this point or maybe ready to work but are not given the chance to voice out.
